The same undeniable transformation and rebirth occurs in our lives because of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection over 2000 years ago we gain access to both eternal life with God and abundant life on earth to flourish where we are.
The beauty of God’s abundant life, unlike nature’s abundance at spring, is it’s not seasonal or finite. It’s all encompassing and available to all. But accessing it is a personal choice.
First steps
- Personal confession: You unlock God’s abundant life when you accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life. His Word guarantees: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 ESV).
- Personal forgiveness: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- Personal obedience: “In fact, this is love for God: to keep [obey] his commands. And his commands are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3).
- Personal Altar: Create greater intimacy with God through personal times of prayer and worship. As he becomes your secret dwelling place, you become His and are transformed with greater power to impact your world.
God’s abundant life offers us a clean slate that frees us from every emotional, mental and spiritual bondage. It guarantees us hope where there’s fear, peace instead of torment, forgiveness over condemnation and security in uncertainty.
