Why God’s will is at the core of the 30-Day CHAYIL Glory Prayer Challenge.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10
We’re entering Week Three of the 30-Day CHAYIL Glory Prayer Challenge, and by now you may have noticed that the Scripture Calendar calls for you to pray this Bible verse daily.
The verse is taken from the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples in Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer). Verse 10 forms the core of our Prayer Challenge, as it recognizes that:
- What’s happening in the world is not what God wants for us
- There is a better world to come
- Through prayer we can enforce the will of God on earth
The will of God is revealed throughout the Bible, and can be summarized as, for us to:
- Prosper and not be harmed (Jeremiah 29:11)
- Be saved and know the Truth (1Timothy 2:4)
- Be wise and reject foolishness (James 1:5, 1 Peter 2:15)
This means that anything that causes us not to flourish and be well—famine, poverty, sicknesses, diseases, violence, corruption, abuse, racism, etc.—is not of God and should not be tolerated!
It means that we need to acknowledge and accept the Truth (Jesus as our personal Saviour and King), so that we can be intimate with Him and receive His Spirit of wisdom and revelation.
As believers, we have access to God’s mighty weapons—one of which is prayer—to demolish strongholds, reverse curses and reject anything that does not align with God’s Word.
He tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Hundreds of you from across each continent have written to let us know that you’re participating in the Challenge. We pray and thank God for every one of you, and urge you to continue to press in.
