The Royal Wedding

Preparing You to Be The Bride of Christ ― Part 1

On May 19, 2018 the world witnessed a fairytale come to life when Prince Harry wed American actress Megan Markle at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom.

News media report that over 2 billion viewers worldwide watched the nuptials.

People were curious to see who attended, what they wore and how the pomp and pageantry would unfold for this ‘ordinary American girl’ marrying into the British royal family.

In a few hours, the months of preparation, speculation and anticipation came to an end. Table talk and social media feeds buzzed relentless on the adorable bride and doting prince. In an instant Megan Markle became the Dutchess of Sussex. This wedding was a dream come true.

I imagine, that’s how we will feel when we stand before our royal groom.

For Jesus calls us His bride, the bride of Christ (Revelation 19:6,7).

When you say yes to Him, he adopts you into his royal family. Like Megan, you get an instantaneous title change. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light,” (1Peter 2:9).

Like Megan we also have to prepare for our royal wedding.

“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready” (Revelation. 19:6,7).

Are you prepared for your royal groom?

We’d like to take the month of June to focus the CHAYIL blogs on four steps to prepare you as the Bride of Christ.

1st Preparation – Make your Heart His Altar Now

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).

Jesus wants to live in and with you forever. He comes to linger for fellowship, intimacy, and exchanges your weakness for His strength, your sins for His righteousness.

At your Personal Altar, you and Jesus gather together with utmost security, confidence, and complete confidentiality. What you say to Him will never be used against you.

At your Personal Altar His banner over you is love; His mercy towards you is unending; His glory in you is ever-increasing glory.

Declare today your heart as a Personal Altar to Jesus. Invite Him to stay forever with you. He comes with fire that you will keep burning only as you meet with Him each day and night.

Share this CHAYIL blog. We’ll unveil preparation #2 next Monday.
