The Power Within You

The Power Within You

Plugging in to Keep Your Lights On

A friend recounted a recent driving experience. Approaching a traffic intersection, managed by traffic lights, she was faced with green. Suddenly, with lights flashing and sirens blaring, a police officer on a motor bike entered the intersection and held his hand up in her direction.

She, along with all the other drivers in the lanes next to her, came to a screeching halt. The authority of the police officer, given to him by the law of the land, overrode the traffic lights.

Similarly, as believers in Christ, we have been given the authority through the power of the Holy Spirit to enforce God’s will on earth just as it is in heaven.

What is the will of God?

The will of God is that none should perish but that all should have everlasting life. It’s for this reason that Jesus died. While on earth, Jesus lived an exemplary life, doing good all around—demonstrating the will of God through love, healing and restoration (Acts 10:38).

Jesus performed many powerful and miraculous acts, yet in John 14:12, He said, “whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

Wow! Think about the implications of that statement.

Activating the power within you

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and we are expected to do even greater! What have we been doing with the authority and power that have been given to us?

The CHAYIL Glory Movement (CGM) is about training ordinary people to tap into that power, so that God’s glory can be manifested on earth.

Power is one of the seven pillars of CGM. The others are worship, wisdom, honour, favour, wealth and influence. The aim is to mirror these attributes of Jesus in our own lives so that we can bring revival and hope to a world plagued by evil and destruction.

To walk in God’s power:

  • Accept Jesus as your Savior: When you do, you receive the spirit of wisdom and power over the enemy. Two of the many benefits of a believer! (Ephesians 1:17-18; Luke 10:17-19)
  • Understand your mission: You have been called to be a light in a dark world. Let your light shine. (Matthew 5:14-16)
  • Don’t limit God: You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you. Believe it! (Philippians 4:13)
  • Create a personal altar: Stay plugged in to God’s power source and remain fully charged through daily personal times of prayer and worship. You’ll never have a power cut! (Matthew 6:6)
